2024 AI-HUB@LMU Prize Winner: Eva Sextl

We are proud to announce the 2024 recipients of the AI-HUB@LMU Prize for the Most Innovative AI-based Research Project.
We are proud to celebrate Eva Sextl from the Universitäts-Sternwarte, Faculty of Physics, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München, as one of the winners of the inaugural AI-HUB@LMU Prizes!
Her research proposal, "Spectral Genesis: Converting Galaxy Images into Spectroscopic Insights with Generative AI" has been recognized with the travel support AI-HUB@LMU Prize.
The Jury’s Verdict: “The research proposal introduces a groundbreaking AI method that predicts detailed optical spectra from galaxy images. This research stands out for its bold integration of cutting-edge generative AI with astrophysical analysis with the potential to redefine how we study the universe, showcasing scientific vision and a deep interdisciplinary understanding.”
