Carrer event with Thomas Schneider and Jakob Artinger (Bundesbank)

At the first career talk of the new year, the MÜNCHNER VOLKSWIRTE ALUMNI-CLUB e.V. (VAC) welcomed Thomas Schneider and Jakob A. from the Deutsche Bundesbank at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich.

On January 16, the two speakers gave the economics students exciting insights into the structure of the Deutsche Bundesbank and the associated fields of work and problems. For example, the participants were able to learn how cooperation with other European central banks is coordinated, how relevant international banking supervision is and how counterfeit money is removed from circulation. In addition, Mr. Artinger and Mr. Schneider shared their personal experiences and day-to-day tasks as members of the President's staff. At the end, the two speakers presented various entry opportunities and career paths in the bank.

After the presentation, our guests took the time to answer all of the participants' questions in an informal setting and to discuss the content in greater depth. This enabled the students to make valuable contacts. We are pleased that the event was able to promote the connection between alumni, university and practice and thus one of the association's statutory purposes.
