Call for Applications for 2025
The call for applications for the 2025 funding period is currently open for the visiting professor track.
The call for applications for the 2025 funding period for the following tracks has already passed: joint research projects, workshops, and research stays for Postdocs. Details of the application process for the 2026 funding period will be published in late summer 2025.

Extended application deadline: Sunday, 1 December 2024
Applications for the visiting professorship must be submitted by the LMU host (LMU professor) using the LMU online submission form. TAU scholars should also apply using the Visiting Professorship Applications online submission form. Applications submitted by any other means will not be accepted.
The LMU-TAU partnership is open to all disciplines and supports joint research projects, workshops, visiting professorships to LMU, as well as research stays for Postdocs.
In a competitive application process, TAU and LMU faculty members (Principal Investigators (“PIs”)) are eligible to submit joint proposals. The application process takes place once a year.
Collaborators from other institutions besides TAU and LMU are eligible to participate in projects but are not eligible for any financial support from TAU or LMU.
AI-Humanity-Society Workshop for Early-Career Researchers
The AI-Humanity-Society workshop is a two-part workshop: starting with an online session on 16 January 2025 at 2 p.m. CET/3 p.m. IST and followed by a funded 3-day in-person meeting from 17 to 19 March 2025, designed specifically for early-career researchers from LMU Munich and TAU. The selection of candidates has been completed.
The first workshop in this series was held at LMU Munich in December 2022 and co-organized by the German Israeli Foundation. More than 20 young researchers from LMU Munich and Tel Aviv University participated in this interdisciplinary workshop. Young Scientists and PhD candidates from the social sciences, humanities, business, law as well as computer sciences shared their research projects and jointly raised new research questions in the fields of decision-making processes, education and learning, and public policy, to name only a few.
Information on Further Funding Opportunities
We would like to inform you about the BayIntAn - Promoting Cooperation of the Bavarian Research Alliance. Within the framework of this initial support for international research cooperation, you can apply for reimbursement of travel expenses of up to 10,000 euros. The deadline for the next phase of applications is 5 November 2024. For further information, please refer to the website of the Bavarian Research Alliance.
In addition, please note that Dan David Society of Fellows has launched a Call for Applications for Postdoctoral Fellowships 2025/2027 with deadline 15 December 2024. The fellowship is open to candidates from all disciplines studying the human past, including but not limited to history, archaeology, art history, history of education, history of science, technology and medicine, physical anthropology, literature, philosophy, and digital humanities.
