LMU has regularly received excellent ratings in international university rankings, both at institutional level and with respect to individual faculties. Rankings make use of various indicators, including reputation, research and teaching performance, and citations of research reports in reputable publications. Depending on the methods employed, and the weighting and selection of subject areas, the results of different ranking exercises vary widely, and should be interpreted with due caution when assessing the quality of any particular institution.
