LMU AdobeID & Adobe Cloud products
LMU AdobeIDs are required at the LMU for the use of paid Adobe cloud products.
LMU AdobeIDs are required at the LMU for the use of paid Adobe cloud products.
LMU-AdobeIDs do not contain any licenses by default! To be able to use Adobe programs, you need rental licenses for a fee. Further information can be found further down on this page.
A prerequisite for the purchase of rental licenses or the use of Adobe programs on licensed CIP pool devices is an LMU AdobeID (an Adobe user account managed by LMU).
You can create an LMU AdobeID in the LMU user account.
Click on the “LMU-AdobeID for using Adobe cloud products” tile and activate your LMU user ID for the service there. Your LMU user profile will then be linked to your newly created LMU AdobeID.
Students can only use the products on selected CIP pool devices with Adobe licenses installed accordingly.
Please ask your department whether a CIP pool has these licenses there. Students cannot use the programs on private devices!
Employees and student assistants who need personal licenses for business can order them from their department and use them for business if the department confirms this.
If you start an Adobe cloud program at the LMU, you will be asked to enter an email address. Once you have created your LMU AdobeID, your LMU e-mail address is stored in it.
This will be displayed to you in the LMU user account after the LMU AdobeID has been created. Enter this address in the Adobe login window. After you have entered the e-mail address associated with your LMU AdobeID, you will be forwarded to an LMU login window. Here you can now log in with your LMU user ID.
The password of your LMU user ID is also your password for your LMU AdobeID. You can use this password to log in to Adobe services and programs with your LMU AdobeID.
You can delete your LMU AdobeID in the user account to disconnect from the Adobe Cloud Products System.
By deleting your LMU AdobeID, you can no longer use the programs and services provided under the Adobe ETLA framework agreement. Your LMU AdobeID account will then be deleted.
Data and files that you have stored with the programs and services in the personal Adobe cloud storage will also be deleted.
You can restore your LMU AdobeID within 14 days of deleting it by reactivating your LMU user ID. Your deleted LMU AdobeID and the cloud data associated with it will be restored by reactivating it.
After 14 days after the deletion of your LMU AdobeID, your data will be permanently deleted. By reactivating your LMU user ID after 14 days and thus finally deleting it, a new LMU AdobeID will be created for you.
If you leave LMU, your LMU AdobeID and the associated cloud data will be deleted at the time of your departure.
After 14 days, your LMU AdobeID and all associated data in the Adobe cloud will be permanently deleted.
An LMU-AdobeID is an Adobe user account required to use Adobe cloud services and Adobe programs at LMU Munich on the basis of the Adobe ETLA Framework Agreement. In order to use the Adobe programs licensed by LMU on the basis of this Framework Agreement, you need an LMU-AdobeID tied to your LMU user ID. To create the LMU-AdobeID, it is necessary to activate your LMU user ID for this service. After activation, an LMU-AdobeID is created for you so that you can use the programs and services when the appropriate licenses are available.
To enable you to use the Adobe cloud programs at LMU on the basis of the ETLA Framework Agreement, you will also need appropriate licenses in addition to your LMU-AdobeID. The available device licenses for CIP pools are:
Students can use Adobe products on CIP pool devices with their LMU-AdobeID if appropriate Adobe device licenses have been installed on the devices. The institution responsible for the respective CIP pool handles licensing. Device licenses can be ordered by institutions through Unit VI.1 (IT Acquisition).
You can delete your LMU-AdobeID to remove the connection to the Adobe cloud products system. You can delete it on the LMU-AdobeID page in your LMU user account.
Erasing your LMU-AdobeID means that you will no longer be able to continue using the available licenses, programs and services under the Adobe ETLA Framework Agreement. Data and files that were saved with programs and services in the Adobe cloud will also be deleted. You will also lose user licenses as a result of the erasure.
Within 14 days after erasing your LMU-AdobeID, you have the opportunity to restore it by reactivating your LMU user ID. Reactivation will also restore your deleted LMU-AdobeID and the associated cloud data. After restoration, you must have Unit VI.1 (IT Acquisitions) reassign user licenses that were assigned to your LMU-AdobeID prior to being deleted. Indicate the order number of your license and your LMU-AdobeID.
When 14 days have passed since erasing your LMU-AdobeID, your data will be definitively deleted. Your data cannot be restored after the end of this period. Reactivation of your LMU user ID after final erasure of your LMU-AdobeID will cause a new LMU-AdobeID to be generated for you.

An LMU-AdobeID is an Adobe user account that is required for using Adobe programs and cloud services at LMU on the basis of the Adobe ETLA Framework Agreement. To create the LMU-AdobeID, it is necessary to activate your LMU user ID for this service. After activation, an LMU-AdobeID is created for you so that you can use the programs and services when the appropriate licenses are available.
The AdobeID service is operated by Adobe Inc.. When your LMU user ID has been activated for an LMU-AdobeID, you agree to Adobe’s terms of use and LMU's.
Please also note our information on use:
The purpose of data processing is to create an LMU-AdobeID so you can use – depending on the license – products from the company Adobe Inc. as part of its affiliation with LMU. There is no data processing for purposes other than the indicated or statutory ones (e.g. for internally checking security systems and ensuring the internal network and information security in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 BayDSG [Bavarian Data Protection Act]). We process only personal data that you have provided us with and that we have received from you in a permissible way as part of the activity at LMU (Art. 4 para. 2 BayDSG). There is no performance or conduct control on the basis of your use of Adobe products or your LMU-AdobeID.
Your LMU-AdobeID user profile will initially consist of only your given name and surname, and your LMU email address saved in your LMU user account. You have the opportunity to save additional information in your profile voluntarily. This information may be visible to other users. For reasons under data protection legislation, it is recommended that the principles of data minimization and purpose limitation be observed when information is added, and information should only be added if this is absolutely necessary for using Adobe products.
We process your data in accordance with and on the basis of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG) and the other applicable data protection regulations.
The personal data for using the LMU-AdobeID is processed as part of voluntary use in accordance with Article 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR (Consent) within the context of voluntary use and otherwise in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. e), para. 2, 3 GDPR in conjunction with Art. 4 para. 1 BayDSG for fulfillment of service tasks.
To use the LMU-AdobeID, the following personal data from you will be necessary
To use the LMU-AdobeID in accordance with the aforementioned purposes, personal data must be transmitted to other institutions:
The stored data are processed as long as and to the extent that such is necessary for the respective purpose of data processing as part of using Adobe products.
When you leave LMU and the LMU user ID is blocked as a result, your LMU-AdobeID and all related data are deleted and the associated product licenses are revoked. It is similar for erasing your LMU-AdobeID in the LMU user account if this is initiated by you yourself. Your LMU-AdobeID can be restored within a period of 14 days after the date of erasure if you want to reactivate the service. After the end of this period, there is no possibility of restoring the data – Be sure to save your data on your own storage medium before departing from LMU!
The use of Adobe ETLA products with your LMU-AdobeID takes place in the cloud. For this reason, data are transmitted to the manufacturer when you use the products. The transmission of data cannot be completely prevented in this case.
There are a number of alternatives to the products in the Adobe portfolio. They are provided by other manufacturers that are in part available free of charge and are not based on cloud services. In the spirit of data minimization, it is recommended that you should use alternative products, if possible, that do not store any data in the cloud or encrypt the data and protect them with a password.
