LMU is marking the 552nd anniversary of its founding in 1472.
The anniversary celebrations will give visitors to the University an insight into the broad spectrum of research conducted at LMU. This year’s address will be delivered by LMU President Professor Bernd Huber. Since promoting young talent is the focus of the annual event, the advancement award of the Münchener Universitätsgesellschaft, MUG (Munich University Society) will be given in recognition of outstanding doctoral and professorial theses.
The prizes will be presented by Professor Peter Höppe, Chairman of the Munich University Society, and University President Professor Bernd Huber.
Monika Schnitzer, Professor of Comparative Economics, will deliver this year’s anniversary lecture, entitled “The baby boomers are retiring: Proposals to stabilize the pension system and cover the need for specialist labor”.
Details of how to sign up for the event are published (in German only) at www.lmu.de/stiftungsfest. If you have any questions, please mail them to lmu-veranstaltungen@lmu.de.
