Biomarkers in Stroke

Opening hours / Beginning:

7 November 2024 - 8 November 2024

Venue:

Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) Seestraße 13 80802 München

Workshop organized by Dr. Steffen Tiedt (CAS Young Center/LMU), Professor Mira Katan (Basel), Professor Peter Kelly (UC Dublin) and Professor John McCabe (Dublin).

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability, yet there are only few effective treatments and an unsatisfactory understanding of human stroke pathophysiology and risk of stroke recurrence. Current diagnostic algorithms are insufficient to capture these processes in daily clinical routine and novel biomarkers are needed.

The workshop aims at providing a platform for stroke biomarker research that also incorporates related fields like neuroscience and cardiovascular medicine as well as advanced diagnostic tools including imaging.

A registration is required. You can find more information on the CAS website.

The Center for Advanced Studies at LMU provides a forum for scientific exchange and discussion that bridges the divide between the established disciplines. Its activities are designed to promote all forms of collaborative research and to stimulate interdisciplinary communication within the University. In addition, it facilitates the integration of visiting scholars and scientists into the academic life of the University.
