Film screening and discussion
Director: Fredrik Gertten / Sweden (2019), 92 min, OmU
Soon, there will be no nurses left in the cities because the salary is not enough for an apartment. Where and how we live is increasingly determined by anonymous investors. The film Push follows Leilani Farha, UN Special Rapporteur, on the right to adequate housing (2014–2020) as she travels the world to find out who is being pushed out of the city, how, and why. “I believe there's a huge difference between housing as a commodity and gold as a commodity. Gold is not a human right, housing is”.
A discussion with Gülseren Demirel (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen, MdL) will follow the screening.
The original version of the film will be shown with German subtitles. The discussion will be held in German. For further information and registration, please visit the website of the Rachel Carson Center.
