Organist Amelie Held, winner of multiple accolades, will play the White Rose Organ in the LMU atrium – the place where the White Rose distributed leaflets for the last time. John Ragner, Hannes Tillian and Christof Wrussnig, drama students at the August Everding Theater Academy, will read texts penned by and about the White Rose.

The organ was installed in the atrium in 1960 as an acoustic monument to the White Rose resistance movement. After standing unused for decades, it was restored in 2013 and has, since 2014, resumed its function as an instrument of commemoration.

The concert will include the world premiere of a work by Teresa Chiché: “White Leaves” is the abridged version of a major work for symphony orchestras in which the composer grapples with the values of democracy: freedom, justice, responsibility, conscience and human dignity. In addition, Amelie Held will play works by Johann Sebastian Bach and Marcel Dupré.

Tickets are free.
