Johann Christian Bach’s music was ahead of his time. His rich, nuanced tones merge with galant styles in a free-flowing musicality as the composer blends Baroque and Classical style elements. The plot revolves around a political conflict in which Zanaida, a king’s daughter, is embroiled. She travels to the neighboring kingdom to advocate a new era together with the ruler Tamasse. With her very life at stake, she must prove herself in the face of a powerful antagonist.
