The cost of the four-week Summer Language Courses is relatively uniform (about 1,000 euros including accomodation). Fees for the Summer Academies, on the other hand, vary considerably.
Since the duration of the Summer Academies differs significantly (from 2 to 10 weeks), the fees differ as well. Several Summer Academies are grant-funded, making them more or less free of charge. Some programs offer individual fee waivers. You can find the waiver information on the program homepages.
If you are in need of financial assistance, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers funding for summer German language courses.
Students and young academics from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia (FYROM), Montenegro, Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine with basic German knowledge (at least A2-level) are eligible to apply for the summer school grants for German language in Bavaria.
Students and young researchers from the Czech Republic can apply for a scholarship from the Bavarian-Czech Academic Agency.
