Emotional intelligence (EI) is the ability to recognize, understand and deal effectively with one's own and others' emotions. In a world increasingly characterized by social interaction and teamwork, emotional intelligence is becoming increasingly important as it contributes significantly to the quality of relationships and professional effectiveness.

Emotional intelligence can be divided into four main dimensions: Self-awareness, self-regulation, social awareness and relationship management.

These areas form the basis for successfully dealing with emotions in everyday and professional life. This seminar is intended as an interactive introduction to the topic of emotional intelligence.

“Future of Work - How the topic of (generative) AI will challenge us now and in the future and how we can learn to deal with it in order to make use of it”

Everyone is talking about AI, generative AI (GenAI). Companies want to use it in a targeted manner and some of us are asking ourselves “what do I need to know, what else should I learn”. As an active member of our society, as future employees and teachers, we can prepare ourselves for these complex questions and the unknown.

  • What should we already know and what can we still learn?
  • Which gadgets can be used how and where and are they being used by companies?
  • What unknowns are we likely to have to deal with?
  • And what contribution can each of us make to society?

The transition from studying to working life is a decisive step in a person's life. In addition to the specialist knowledge acquired during your studies, your personality is crucial for a successful start to your professional life. If you know your own personality, wishes and visions well, you can make a good career choice on this basis. If the personal profile of skills, strengths and weaknesses fits the job well, it is easier to get started. Using the western version of the Ikigai concept, among other things, we look at what leads you to a combination of passion, mission, profession and vocation. Get to know yourself better in this interactive seminar.

In a world of constant change, the ability to innovate and solve complex problems is more important than ever. Design Thinking offers a powerful, counterintuitive approach to tackle challenges and generate new ideas. By embracing the mindset of "fail early and often," you’ll discover how to leverage the power of iterative processes to drive creativity, improve your projects, refine your research, and navigate your entry into the professional world with confidence.

Topics that will be covered are:

  • Understand the Phases of Design Thinking: You’ll explore the core phases of the Design Thinking process—Understand, Define, Ideate, Prototype, Test—and how they can help you address and solve complex problems. You’ll learn how to apply these phases to any project, from academic work to professional challenges.
  • Engage in a Design Thinking Sprint: During this intensive, hands-on session, you’ll work through a full "Design Sprint" focused on an individual problem or challenge you are currently facing. By engaging in this process, you’ll gain practical experience in applying Design Thinking techniques, using creativity and iteration to find solutions that truly work.
  • Discover Creative Problem-Solving Techniques: You’ll be introduced to a variety of creative methods designed to spark innovation and encourage out-of-the-box thinking. These playful yet powerful tools will help you approach problems from new angles and uncover fresh solutions.
  • Apply Design Thinking to Personal Challenges: You’ll learn how to apply the methods of Design Thinking to your own personal or academic challenges. Whether you're tackling a research project, career planning, or a specific task, you’ll gain the skills to approach problems systematically and creatively.
  • Adopt the Design Thinking Mindset: At the heart of Design Thinking is the mindset that embraces failure as a learning opportunity. You’ll gain insights into how to reshape your approach to setbacks, using them as stepping stones toward greater success. Curiosity will replace the pursuit of perfection, and you’ll develop the resilience to stay focused on the process of innovation.

By the end of this workshop, you’ll not only have a solid understanding of the Design Thinking approach but also the practical skills to apply it in real-world situations. You’ll leave with a toolkit of creative methods, a growth-focused mindset, and strategies for navigating complex challenges in both personal and professional contexts.
Let's develop the innovative problem-solving skills that will set you apart in your career and empower you to thrive in a constantly evolving world!
