Jiawen Wang
As soon as she arrived in Germany, LMU student Jiawen Wang applied to work as a volunteer school companion. Ever since, she has helped a young girl in a wheelchair to cope with everyday life at school. Quickly discovering how expensive everything is in Munich, the Chinese national was fortunate to have her attention drawn to the Germany Scholarship program. Without such a scholarship, she would have had to give up her social engagement. Now, she has more time to devote to her research into IT and computer linguistics – and Germany has one more of the few female informatics specialists.
