Nationally restricted admission degree programs

EU/EEA citizens

If you are a national of an EU/EEA country and would like to study in the 1st semester of a degree program with nationwide admission restrictions, you must first apply to the Foundation for University Admission (Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung) in the form and within the deadlines stipulated. This will ensure you can participate in the nationwide study place allocation process.

Should you be admitted, the letter of admission, which will be sent to you by the Foundation for University Admission will contain your registration deadline. It is imperative that you meet this deadline, otherwise your admission will expire and the place allocated to you will be given to another applicant!

Attention: Prospective students who are already registered in an admission restricted degree program at a German university who would like to transfer to LMU into a higher semester on the same degree program (so-called Ortswechsler) as well as prospective students who on the basis of their academic performance wish to transfer to a higher semester of a different admission restricted degree program at LMU (so-called Quereinsteiger), must apply through the local allocation process (in German).

Admissions

First semester

Should you be admitted, the letter of admission, which will be sent to you by the Foundation for University Admission will contain your registration deadline. Before this deadline, we must receive your application for registration together with all necessary documents, or if you are already registered / re-registered at LMU, you must apply for a change of subject before the registration deadline.

Otherwise, your admission will expire and the study place allocated to you will be given to another applicant!

Higher semester

Admission and registration for higher semesters can only take place after the re-registration of current students has been completed.

Should you be admitted through the local allocation process, the letter of admission you receive will contain your registration deadline. Before this deadline, we must receive your application for registration together with all necessary documents, or if you are already registered / re-registered at LMU, you must apply for a change of subject before the registration deadline.

Otherwise, your admission will expire and the study place allocated to you will be given to another applicant!

Registration and change of subject

Once you have successfully applied and been admitted to your chosen degree program, you must submit an application for registration to the Office of the University Registrar (Studentenkanzlei) before the deadline.

To do this, you must first submit an online application and then send the necessary documents in full by post within the specified deadline. Your registration documents (completed in full) must be received by LMU before this deadline

If you are currently registered / re-registered for another degree program at LMU and wish to change to an admission restricted degree program, you must apply for a change of subject via the Foundation for University Admission (1st semester) and via LMU (higher semester) to the Office of the University Registrar (Studentenkanzlei).
